#Microsoft Azure #DataScience VM (DSVM) on Windows Server 2016 in the #Cloud #Azure #DSVM

The Microsoft Data Science Virtual Machine (DSVM) is a powerful data science development environment that enables you to perform various data exploration and modeling tasks. The environment comes already built and bundled with several popular data analytics tools that make it easy to get started quickly with your analysis for On-premises, Cloud or hybrid deployments. The DSVM works closely with many Azure services and is able to read and process data that is already stored on Azure, in Azure SQL Data Warehouse, Azure Data Lake, Azure Storage, or in Azure Cosmos DB. It can also leverage other analytics tools such as Azure Machine Learning and Azure Data Factory.

You can Choose which OS you Like.

The ‘Data Science Virtual Machine (DSVM)’ is a ‘Windows Server 2016 with Containers’ VM & includes popular tools for data exploration, analysis, modeling & development.

Highlights:

Tools for ML model operationalization as web services in the cloud, using Azure ML or Microsoft R Server.

Creating the Azure DSVM with Windows Server 2016

I use this Azure DSVM for testing and I will enable Auto-Shutdown Scheduler
(to save money)

To Learn these new fast going technologies is a challenge for teachers and students on school. I did some Azure workshops for students at Microsoft Netherlands, and when they have an
Azure subscription active they see and learn all the possibilities in the Cloud. ICT teachers and students love to work with Microsoft Azure Cloud technologies, making virtual machines
and upload their own images to work with. Learning how to develop applications and make them active in the Cloud for Mobile devices. The possibilities in Microsoft azure are endless for
Education, making training courses online, prepare online practical exams and much more. A lot of schools have Microsoft Imagine subscription to use great software of Microsoft, and for developers
there is also an Imagine Azure subscription available with Awesome Features available for Free. For ICT teachers and students who need Azure Cloud services with compute, vnet, Storage for virtual disk
images is also possible but you have to pay as you go and we know that Education and students don’t have enough money for that to learn awesome new technologies like Microsoft Azure.

With this knowledge we asked Dell EMC to support us in our Journey with Microsoft Azure Stack POC Single Server appliance ( Dell PowerEdge R630) to get the
Awesome Microsoft Azure technology in the Classroom for teachers and students to learn Cloud services.
